The Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association is a not-for-profit tourism industry organization that supports the growth of tourism through partnership, product development, research, education and marketing.
Background
This Association is a stand-alone organization that has four full-time employees. The office is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The geographic area is from the town of Spanish to Sault Ste. Marie to White River, up to Hearst to Chapleau to Elliot Lake and Spanish. The geographic size is approximately 28,000 square miles.
The Association is a not-for-profit incorporated association that represents members and partners located within its geographic borders. Its membership is as diverse as the tourism product located here, from small privately-owned motels to branded full-service motels, to fishing lodges and soft outdoor outfitters, retail and attractions.
The Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association is an organization that has been representing the tourism industry in Algoma since 1974. Throughout its 49 years in business, Algoma has undergone many changes, at Board and staffing levels and programming. Through the hard work and dedication of staff, the Board of Directors and our consistent support from the industry we are considered leaders in tourism in Northern Ontario.
Since 1974, the Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association has represented the tourism industry within it’s geography of 28,000 square miles. Algoma Country is dedicated to promoting our area as “That real” travel destination. Our goal is to increase tourism revenue for not only our Partners but also the whole region. Through a partnership with Algoma Country our organization looks to market your business to region’s best bet markets. Our partnerships with both Destination Northern Ontario and Destination Ontario leverage our marketing and product development efforts for the region. The Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association is a not-for-profit membership-based tourism industry organization that supports the growth of tourism through partnership, product development, research, education and marketing.
Partnership runs from January 1 to December 31 each year.
