DESCRIPTION:

The line cook assists the sous chef by carrying out various tasks included in the preparation of dishes. Precisely, they set up the kitchen, prepare the dishes, put together the plates and ensure the maintenance of cleanliness of workspaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare the ingredients necessary for the preparation of the dishes;
  • Set up the workstation in anticipation of various services;
  • Prepare, cook and season the dishes by respecting the recipes and using the appropriate techniques;
  • Assemble the plate, ensuring compliance with the dishes’ presentation standards;
  • Maintain food storage and preparation areas;
  • Implement hygiene and sanitation standards;
  • Implement occupational health and safety standards;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma (DEP) in professional cooking or any other training deemed relevant;
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the kitchen;
  • Experience in a hotel environment is an asset;
  • Strong interest in teamwork;
  • Thoroughness;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Great organization skills;
  • Good written and spoken skills in French and English.
